Every hospital says that patients come first. But can patients actually feel it?

In the latest patient survey by the Flemish Patients’ Platform, Heilig Hart Leuven received the highest overall appreciation score among the participating hospitals. Patients particularly valued the clear information they received, the warm attitude of doctors and nurses, and the sense of safety throughout their care journey.

But patient-first care is about more than what happens between a doctor or nurse and a patient. It is also shaped by the culture, processes and everyday choices of an entire hospital.

Geertrui De Ruyver and Thomas Euben will show how Heilig Hart Leuven tries to put that ambition into practice from two different angles. Geertrui will focus on people, leadership and organisational culture. Thomas will look at the projects and processes behind the scenes that can make care run better for both patients and healthcare professionals.
