Organoids: Tiny Models, Big Impact?
Organoids are miniature, lab-grown tissue models that are transforming how we study human biology and disease. In this talk, Emma Laporte will introduce the fundamentals of organoid technology and explore how these innovative models are reshaping biomedical research and drug development.
She will highlight their potential to address unmet medical needs in women's health, focusing on endometriosis, a chronic disease that affects millions of women worldwide yet remains underserved by current treatments.
Using examples from her work at GynQura Therapeutics, she will show the promise of patient-derived organoids in helping to uncover disease mechanisms, identify new therapeutic targets, and accelerate the development of more effective treatments.
