Putting the patient first in health tech
A talk by Elisabeth Heremans on using AI and wearables to make sleep diagnostics truly patient-centered.
Sleep diagnostics are a good example of how healthcare technology can be designed around the patient instead of the other way around.
Elisabeth Heremans worked on ways to monitor sleep outside the hospital, using wearable technology and AI to capture clinically useful data while patients sleep in their own environment. That means fewer wires, less disruption and a much more natural experience.
The patient benefit is obvious, but there is also a clinical advantage: more natural sleep can lead to more representative data.
In this session, Elisabeth explores how patient-first thinking can improve sleep diagnostics, and what it takes to combine comfort, accessibility and clinical reliability.
